About us

Gaitanis Flowerland is a family business founded in 1986 by Ioannis Gaitanis. It started as a rose growing company and consisted of 1 acre of greenhouse roses. Today we count 6 acres of greenhouse flower crops growing roses, gerberas, lilies, oriental lilies, gypsophila, statice, chrysanthemum and other seasonal flowers.

In our premises we will show you state of the art methods of growing ,packing and managing, all of which allow us a stable production of quality flowers. We supply wholesale flower stores, flower shops and hotels all over Greece and we also cooperate with companies abroad.

If your company is based in Crete we can arrange for refrigerated transportation at your door based on a weekly programme at no charge.

Facilities

We were one of the first growers in Greece to use hydroponic systems to maintain stable flower production throughout the year. We have always been using automatic systems to control irrigation, fertilizing, humidity, ventilation, cold and hot temperatures. Using beneficial insects to control pests we reduce the use of pesticides hence protecting the environment and our specialized personnel.

Our company uses a seawater desalination unit to decrease drinking water waste, cold rooms , storage and packing rooms as well as packing machinery. A licensed nursery caters for our needs in new plants and allows us to control the quality of the newcomers in the production.
